这 program offers students unique opportunities to learn about many aspects of equine 健康和马业. 学生 pair classroom 经验s with applied classes at our on-campus stables, which house 云顶集团's 26 performance horses. 女毕业生/我有 donated many of the horses that flex their skills with 云顶集团’s nationally recognized 马术的团队. (All students, not just team members, can minor in equine studies.) Additionally, the Maryland Horse Breeders Association is located on campus, drawing horse industry leaders to 云顶集团 and providing students additional resources to study the business, management, and breeding of horses through internships.

The equine studies minor provides students an opportunity to explore the care, management, and anatomy of horses through hands-on opportunities with 云顶集团’s horses. 学生 come to understand horses’ handling, physiology, behavior, health issues, and maintenance as well as the basics of small business management related to many careers in the 马产业.

The program is designed for maximum flexibility so that students can pair the minor with their other interests and prepare for a variety of careers, such as equine facility manager/owner, equine journalist, trainer, bloodstock agent, bloodstock importer, 兽医服务. Many students pair the equine studies minor with business, communications, biology, premedical/prehealth, or other majors. 学生的计划 to apply to veterinary schools should also consult the prehealth advisor, Marisa Sanders.
